Regarding the editorial “For serious voters, Missouri’s ballot offers an array of unacceptable choices.” (Oct. 27): I disagree with the Editorial Board, and I think all true conservative Republicans should vote for Trudy Busch Valentine. Eric Schmitt has backed Donald Trump and the MAGA crowd and is beholden to that faction. The only way to reduce Trump’s influence is for his handpicked candidates to lose their respective races. Once this happens, I think Trump’s power will diminish, and then maybe current House and Senate members may start to grow a backbone. Many are fearful of his wrath and stay quiet. It is the only way for true conservative values to return.
