However, in Missouri, we face the unfortunate reality of extremist politicians who seek to curtail women’s reproductive rights. The recent overturning of Roe v. Wade by the Supreme Court dealt a significant blow to women’s rights, and Missouri’s response was immediate. Attorney General Eric Schmitt enforced an extreme abortion ban, disregarding the needs and circumstances of women across the state. This ban goes to such extreme lengths that it prohibits abortion from conception onward, without any exceptions for cases of rape or incest, including those involving child victims. It is a cruel law that forces young girls who have experienced unimaginable trauma to endure unwanted pregnancies and give birth against their will.
If Missouri elects Eric Schmitt to the U.S. Senate, we can only expect further erosion of women’s rights on a national level. The consequences would be far-reaching and devastating.
