Missouri is gearing up for its primary election on Tuesday, August 6. Voters will select candidates for the November general election.
Voting Information
- Mail-in Voting: Started on June 25.
- No-excuse In-person Absentee Voting: Began on July 23.
- Request Absentee Ballots: The deadline was July 24.
- In-person Voting: Polls open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day.
Who is Eligible to Vote in Missouri
Eligible voters in Missouri must be registered by July 10 and need a valid photo ID to cast their ballot. Provisional ballots are available if ID is missing, but they are counted only if ID is provided later or if the signature is verified.
To register to vote, an individual must be:
- A citizen of the United States
- A resident of the State of Missouri
- 17 years and 6 months of age (must be 18 by Election Day)
Additionally, to be entitled to vote, a person:
- Must be registered to vote in the jurisdiction of their domicile prior to the election
- Cannot be imprisoned
- Cannot be on probation or parole after conviction of a felony
- Cannot have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor connected to voting
- Cannot have been declared incapacitated

Voting After Completing Probation and Parole
Individuals who have completed their sentence, including probation and parole, are eligible to vote. However, those convicted of election offenses are not allowed to vote.
